St. Walter School Library and Learning Center houses over 10,000 current books, educational materials and a variety of research and reference materials. Our full time librarian integrates resources to enhance curriculum and instruction.

Primary grades focus on Caldecott and Monarch Awarding winning books, seasonal stories, and activities related to real aloud stores. Students are introduced to fiction and nonfiction books and are instructed in using the fictional shelving system.

Intermediate grades study continents using DVD's, guest speakers, games and maps and globes.  Students begin research skills using various curriculum studies to generate topics. The Dewey Decimal system is also introduced and students participate in Reader's Theater at this level.

Middle School grade students are provided with book talks, advanced opportunities for research and research assistance, and the assignment "book shelf" to assist them with their research projects.
