WHERE IS ST. WALTER SCHOOL LOCATED?
We are located in the Village of Roselle, Illinois, a northwestern suburb of Chicago.

WHERE DO ST. WALTER SCHOOL’S STUDENTS COME FROM?
Our student population comes from many different suburban communities, with Roselle contributing the largest number of students.

WHAT IS THE SCHOOL’S ENROLLMENT?
St. Walter School has an enrollment of approximately 600 students in preschool through grade 8. We are the largest school in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Joliet.

DO YOU HAVE TO BE CATHOLIC TO ATTEND ST. WALTER SCHOOL?
No. Students of all faiths are welcome; however, pupils are required to study the Roman Catholic faith and attend religious services with their classmates.

DO WE HAVE TO BE MEMBERS OF ST. WALTER PARISH?
No. If space allows, non-parish families are welcome to attend the school.    There will be a different tuition schedule for non-parishioners.

WHERE DO I PURCHASE STUDENT UNIFORMS?
Uniforms can be purchased from School Belles. Their toll free number is 888-637-3037. You can also visit their website at www.schoolbelles.com. PE wear, spirit wear and grey uniform shirts for grades 5 – 8 can be ordered directly through the school by calling the main office.

WHAT STANDARDIZED TESTS ARE ADMINISTERED?

The Iowa Test of Basic Skills is administered in the Fall of the school year. Results are shared with parents/guardians in early December.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR HONOR ROLL?
Students in grades five through eighth are eligible to be on the Honor Roll. Honor Roll is awarded at the time report cards are issued. Honor Roll is based on a point value system.

WHAT TYPE OF TRANSPORTATION IS PROVIDED?
Students residing in the boundaries of Roselle District 12 and who live further than 1.5 miles from school, or live in a hazardous busing area as designated by the Department of Transportation, will be provided bus service at no cost. Services is available to students living in the Roselle area, who do not meet either of the above criteria at a fee. All others must use private transportation.

WHERE DO SWS STUDENTS ATTEND HIGH SCHOOL?
St. Walter graduates journey on to as many as 13 different high schools.

The Catholic high schools include Benet Academy in Lisle, Immaculate Conception in Elmhurst, Montini in Lombard, St. Edward’s in Elgin, St. Francis in Wheaton, St. Ignatius in Chicago, and St. Viator in Arlington Heights.

The public high schools include Addison Trail in Addison, Bartlett High in Bartlett, Conant in Schaumburg, Fenton in Bensenville, Glenbard North in Carol Stream, Glenbard West in Glen Ellyn, Lake Park High School in Roselle, Schaumburg High in Schaumburg, South Elgin in Elgin and Streamwood High School.
