The beginner program is open primarily to students in the fourth grade. Concert band includes intermediate and advanced players. Jazz band is comprised of advanced players. Yearbook Students at St. Walter School may become a member of the yearbook staff in sixth, seventh or eighth grades. Under the direction of an advisor, staff members work together on the publication of the annual book commemorating the year’s activities.


		Hand Bell Choir St. Walter School’s Hand Bell Choir is open to students in eighth grade. The choir performs at school, parish, and diocesan functions. Student Council The St. Walter School Student Council sponsors a variety of school events and provides assistance to a number of out reach programs. Last year alone, SWS’s student council provided financial support to the following charities: Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Ronald McDonald House Charities Public Action to Deliver Shelter (P.A.D.S.) Organization St. Walter Parish’s Capital Campaign Guatemalan Mission Food For The Poor Math Club Junior High students have the opportunity to participate in the Illinois Mathematics League Contest, "feeder" high school competitions, and the Continental Mathematics League competition.
